The Ultimate London Gluten Free Bakery Guide (with Map)

What’s in my London Gluten Free Bakery guide?

My ultimate London Gluten Free Bakery Guide is the result of hard-core research, walking and eating. All the bakery venues listed are accessible within London and have ‘shop’ fronts. The guide does not include online-only bakeries, but does include bakeries that have weekend and part-week market stalls and stores. Opening times are stated where known, but these often vary by season and circumstance, so always check websites and social media pages before heading off, to avoid disappointment.

The number of gluten free bakeries across London has definitely grown over the years. Inevitably however, while new ones spring up, others close. If you find any changes for venues listed (or discover new bakeries in the city), let me know so I can amend the list.

Note that not all venues listed are 100% gluten free (although the majority are). Nonetheless, all are able to provide Coeliac-safe bakery options. From cakes, cookies and other sweet treats… to pastries, breads and sandwiches, London has something inclusive for everyone!

London Gluten Free Bakery Map

To make it as easy as possible for you to navigate the what and the where, I’ve shared my Gluten Free Bakeries on an interactive London google map. That means you can find the closest safe treats wherever you are… It’s the map I use myself when in the city!

Click the little square in the top right corner of the shared map below and it will open up into something bigger… A journey across our capital city that will excite your taste buds and leave you smiling. You could even map out your very own gluten free bakery crawl.

100% Gluten Free Bakeries are marked with a star ⭐️

DIJöN Hampstead (Pizzeria & London Gluten Free Café Hub) AND Marley’s Bakery – 100% gluten free ⭐️

Hampstead Community Market, 78 Hampstead High Street, London NW3 1RE (Website🖕) (Wednesday (currently Tuesday) to Sunday) (Nearest Tube: Hampstead; Belsize Park)

What: Possibly one of the coolest 100% gluten free bakery venues in London… DIJöN (run by the very lovely Dijön, of Good F’ing Pizza) opened a take-away pizza café at the end of 2025. It now also offers bakery treats (on a collaboration basis) from a whole gamut of the best gluten free London bakers, plus coffee and drinks. His original pizza, the newer calzone and (a weekend offering) of Detroit-style pizza are available, alongside garlic bread, doughnuts, bagels, fresh focaccia sandwiches, sourdough and breads, cakes, cookies, brownies and pastries. I’m just gutted I don’t live closer.

Dijön has also recently partnered with Marley’s Bakery (Website🖕) (selling cakes, cookies and sweet treats) on a more permanent site basis.

Recommendations: Standard & Detroit pizza… And everything else! This is the place to indulge and try from so many different gluten free London bakeries!

Covent Garden: 54 Neal Street, London WC2H 9PA  (Website🖕) (Nearest Tube: Covent Garden & Leicester Square)

Islington: 133 Upper St, London N1 1QP (Nearest Tube: Angel; Highbury)

What: Copains is a popular 100% gluten free Parisian bakery that has now arrived in London. Like all gluten free bakeries, it’s not cheap, although it is on a cost par with other popular London venues.

Copains serves French patisserie, cakes, cookies, bread and ‘to go’ filled focaccia and baguettes. Many products are additionally dairy free or vegan.

Recommendations: eclair choux pastries; Paris brest; chocolate chip swiss bread; cinnamon roll (best heated); chocolate (cocoa) bread; apple pie; filled baguettes.

Borough 22 Doughnuts – 100% gluten free ⭐️

Selfridges Food Hall – 400 Oxford Street, London W1A 1AB (Website🖕) (Nearest Tube: Bond Street; Marble Arch; (Oxford Circus))

What: gluten free, vegan, allergen-free doughnuts (fried or baked). Borough 22 fried doughnuts are award winning and with good reason. They’re real deal, proper fried doughnuts! Again, they’re expensive, but if you get one that’s super-fresh, it’s incredible.

However… I’ve also bought doughnuts here that were hard and stale… So ASK when they were made to be sure you get the freshest options. The Yum Yums are generally more reliable for freshness as they’re fully glazed. They also now sell other gluten free treats (crumbles; brownies; cookies).

Recommendations: yum yums; Boston crème fried doughnut; jam-filled fried doughnut.

La Maritxu (Basque Cheesecakes) – 100% gluten free ⭐️

Coal Drops Yard: Unit 16, Bagley Walk Arches Coal Drops Yard, London N1C 4DH (Nearest Tube: Kings Cross)

What: La Maritxu specialises in authentic Basque cheesecake. It’s one of my favourite gluten free bakery desserts in London… Deliciously creamy and decadent, it’s sold by the slice for the ultimate, naturally gluten free treat. And because they only sell cheesecake, the entire bakery is safe. There’s usually 2 or 3 flavours on offer.

Recommendations: tiramisu Basque cheesecake.

Manna Dew London Gluten Free Bakery (Patisserie) – 100% gluten free ⭐️

Battersea: 169 Battersea High Street, London, SW11 3JS (Website🖕) (Nearest Tube: Clapham Junction)

What: award-winning, gluten free Danish pastries, viennoiserie, cakes, breads, etc… sweet and savoury, with some vegan options.

Manna Dew is one of the top artisan pastry destinations in London’s gluten free bakeries list and a ‘must visit’ if you’re in the city. Their pastries are delicious and innovative and come pretty close to those from my non-Coeliac past. The range is incredible… From Pain au Chocolat, White Chocolate-Strawberry Vol au Vent and Truffle-Mushroom Vol au Vent, to Almond Croissants and Cronuts…

If you want them crisp and delicious and are planning to eat straight away, get them to heat the pastries before you leave… It’s the best way to eat them! If taking them home, heat when you get there. Pastries can also be ordered online for home delivery.

Recommendations: pistachio croissant; goat cheese onion chutney vol au vent; pain aux raisin.

Battersea Exchange: Unit 15, Patcham Terrace, SW8 4EX (Website🖕) (Nearest Tube: Battersea Park)

With bakes made in-house and supplied by the Gluten Free Bakehouse, it sells mostly sweet cakes and cookies and a handful of savoury pastries. It’s a shop (not a café), but is 100% gluten free, so everything is Coeliac-safe. Although a bit out of the way, it’s worth a visit if you’re in Battersea.

They also have a selection of cakes that changes week to week.

Crumb Spell can home-deliver via order from their Instagram page.

Recommendations: I’ve yet to visit Crumb Spell, but I’ll be trying the pistachio-filled madeleines when I do!

Hopstop Doughnuts – 100% gluten free ⭐️

Greenwich Market: 5 Greenwich Market, London SE10 9HZ (Website🖕) (Thurs – Fri) (Nearest Transport: Greenwich Station (DLR); Greenwich Pier (Riverboat))

Shoreditch: Brick Lane Food Hall, 83 Brick Ln, London E1 6QL (Sat – Sun) (Nearest Tube: Shoreditch High Street; Whitechapel; Aldgate)

What: Hopstop serves freshly-fried gluten free-vegan doughnuts that are made to order from their stalls in Greenwich market (Thursday to Friday) and Brick Lane food hall (Saturday to Sunday). They look fantastic, but for me, they lack an authentic fried doughnut texture, being quite ‘pasty’ and starchy… However, many people love them, so try them and make your own judgement. They’re served hot with optional toppings, and can also now be ordered online for home delivery (I tried these too, but they still weren’t for me).

Recommendations: For you to decide!

What: Located about a 10 minute walk from Greenwich market, Arapina is a fabulous vegan bakery, that also offers a range of gluten free cakes and treats (both bakes and raw options).
